Creamline tries to boost its semifinal bid today when it collides with BaliPure-National University in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

The fancied Cool Smashers aim for their fifth win in six games in their 2 p.m. meeting with the Water Defenders as they intend to cement their hold of the top spot .

The top two squads at the end of the elims will earn outright semis tickets while the third to eighth places play another round-robin phase for the remaining two semis seats.

After a stinging five-set loss to Banko-Perlas last May 12, Creamline rebounded strongly, winning their next three games, including a tough 25-14, 27-25, 26-24 triumph over Tacloban last week.

The Cool Smashers hope to keep their momentum going especially against the dangerous Water Defenders, who vowed to get back on the winning track following a 25-19, 10-25, 25-17, 25-21 loss to the Pocari Sweat-Air Force Lady Jet Spikers last Wednesday.

Superstar Alyssa Valdez is confident she can get the usual help from Jia Morado, libero Mel Gohing and imports Nikolina Asceric, and Kuttika Kaewpin.

But they can’t take BaliPure for granted since the latter has formidable guest players in Janisa Johnson, Alexis Matthews, and Alyssa Solomon who are out to improve their 3-2 record.

Also out to bolster their respective semis bids are PayMaya and PetroGazz, who square off at 4 p.m.

The High Flyers are currently tied with the Water Defenders at second with a 3-2 slate while the Angels are half a game behind with 3-3 following a 25-19, 20-25, 28-26, 25-21 defeat over the Lady Jet Spikers two days back.
