Visayas, Mindanao to have cloudy skies, rains due to LPA, ITCZ—Pagasa

The Visayas and Mindanao regions will continue to have rainy weather on Sunday as a low pressure area (LPA) and an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continue to affect the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA would bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Caraga.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in the provinces of Mimaropa, Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao.

The Pagasa asked the residents of the Visayas and Mindanao regions to take extra caution for possible flooding and landslides caused by the two weather disturbance.

As of 3 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was spotted at 390 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

The Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. /je
