The planned new Senate building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig would neither be lavish nor overpriced, according to Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian.
Gatchalian said the new building would cost only P50,000 per square meter to build, or lower than P80,000 per square meter required for a high-end building in BGC.
The budget, Gatchalian said, “is within the range of reasonableness.”
He said it was better to erect a new building than keep spending P127 million a month on rent.
He said the location, BGC, was a good choice because it was more accessible to people. —Leila B. Salaverria
