Rainy weekend

By Ellalyn de Vera-Ruiz

The tropical cyclone-enhanced southwest monsoon or hanging habagat will bring rainy weekend, with possible flooding or landslide over some parts of Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned yesterday.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said tropical depression “Domeng” has no direct effect over the country but will induce light to moderate to at times heavy monsoon rains over Visayas, particularly over Luzon this weekend.

Around mid-Thursday, Domeng was slightly stronger with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 65 kph.
