Bong Go: I won’t run for Senate

President Rodrigo Duterte’s most trusted aide seems to be following in his boss’ footsteps.

Like President Rodrigo Duterte, who played coy for months before announcing his decision to seek the highest post in the land in the 2016 elections, Christopher “Bong” Go over the weekend took to social media to reiterate that he had no plans of running for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

Go, the special assistant to the President, made the remarks a day after the President teased an audience of newly elected barangay officials that Go wanted a seat in the Senate.

In a Facebook post, Go said he simply wanted to do his job, which was to follow his boss’ orders.

“Do not worry, as I have no dream to become a senator,” he said in a post on Friday.

He added: “My loyalty is with the President and the Filipino nation… How about you, where does your loyalty lie?’”
