A municipal councilor was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Balabagan, Lanao del Sur Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as Abedin Disalongan, a municipal councilor of Balabagan.

Armed with a search warrant, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, with the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force and Army 6th Infantry Battalion, swooped down on Disalongan’s residence at around 5 a.m. He was in his residence during the raid and did not resist arrest.

Recovered from the suspect were 50 grams of suspected shabu, one M16 rifle, two 9mm pistols, and a Toyota Hilux pickup truck believed to be used in his nefarious activities.

Disalongan is now under the custody of the PDEA-ARMM and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.
