Carnaval del Sol returns to Vancouver for 10th year

Get into the Latin festival spirit at this year’s Carnaval del Sol, which, now in its 10th year, has become “the biggest Latin festival in the Pacific Northwest,” according to its organizer Latincouver. From July 7-8, 2018, the main festival is expecting 100,000 people at Concord Pacific Place in the False Creek area of Vancouver.

It’s a family-friendly, free community event that welcomes people from all backgrounds to experience Latin American cultures through music, art and food. It also includes a soccer tournament as part of the festivities at Andy Livingstone Park.

But before the main event, Latincouver has a week of events planned for Latin American Week 2018, including:

• 10 Years, Past, Present and Future Gala event, June 27
• Fiesta Blanca on a Cruise, June 30
• Canada Day Parade, July 1
• Latin American Film Night with VIFF, July 3
• Woman voices in the Americas, July 4
• Flamenco, Tango and Wine, July 5
