Alleged drug peddler slain in Panglao buy-bust

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – An alleged drug peddler was killed in a shootout with policemen during a buy-bust operation in Panglao town, Saturday morning.

Members of the Panglao Police Station and Provincial Mobile Force (PMF) of Bohol Provincial Police Office identified the fatality as Roger Dayagan Apale.

Apale, 39, was a native of Baclayon town but he was temporarily residing in Panglao.

Police Supt. Gaylord Tamayo said they received information that the suspect  was a known drug peddler and was an armed personality in the area.

Operatives conducted a buy-bust against Apale at 9:40 a.m. at his rented apartment in Barangay Tawala in Panglao.

However, upon sensing that he was transacting with a poseur buyer, the suspect pulled out his handgun and fired at the policemen.

Back-up officers retaliated resulting in a brief shootout which led to the death of Apale due to multiple bullet wounds.

Authorities seized three sachets of shabu with estimated street value of P68,440 and a loaded caliber .45 revolver.
