AFTER being dethroned by Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, Lucas Matthysse of Argentina announced his retirement from professional boxing on Instagram.
Matthysse lost to Pacquiao via technical knockout (TKO) in the seventh of their 12-round fight and the welterweight crown at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 15.
Matthysse, 35, who ended his career with 39 wins, five losses and 36 knockouts, announced his retirement through his Instagram page lucasmatthysse29 on August 1. JOSEF T. RAMOS
