Tackling racism and other -isms via language

Calgary-based Canadian Cultural Mosaic Foundation is presenting an event this Friday to raise discussion on discrimination.

The event, called Tackling Ableism, Ageism, Heterosexism, Racism, & Sexism through our language, will be held on Friday, August 24, 6:30 p.m., at the CommunityWise Resource Centre in Calgary.

The event that aims to provide the public with tangible tools to tackle ableism, ageism, heterosexism, racism and sexism through our language. During the event, participants will engage in inclusive language exercises, learn to adopt an inclusive vocabulary and hear from a diverse panel. The panel includes Liza Chan, Ebony Gooden, Jacquie Aquines, Garret Smith and Veronica Lawrence.
