Joma dares Duterte:  Release intelligence report

DAVAO CITY – Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chair Jose Maria Sison dares President Duterte to release the intelligence report showing him talking with the Magdalo group of Senator Antonio Trillanes or the Liberal Party.

Sison issued the statement after Rodrigo Duterte accused the three parties of working together for his ouster in a televised discussion with Salvador Panelo on Tuesday afternoon.

“The broad united front promoted by the CPP against the Duterte tyranny is open to all patriotic forces. But as far as I know, there are yet no talks between the CPP and Trillanes group or the Liberal Party,” Sison said.

Duterte claimed that he had proof of the conversations between the parties.

He added that the intelligence report was provided by a foreign government, which he would soon present to the public once declassified by the military.

But Sison answered that it was not true and that Duterte was bluffing.

“Duterte is lying and bluffing by claiming that there are recorded conversations provided by a foreign government,” Sison said.

Accusing Duterte as a “congenital liar and an incorrigible political swindler,” Sison dared the President to release the intelligence report.

“I challenge him to present publicly what he claims as recorded conversations. The experts will easily expose the fakery if he dares to present anything. This could be something like his invented foreign bank accounts of Trillanes,” Sison said.

Sison clarified that there were no discussions between him or the CPP with the group of Trillanes and Liberal Party.

“But it is no secret that the CPP wishes to promote a broad united front of patriotic forces and encourage the broad masses of the people in their millions to rise up and oust Duterte, as Marcos and Estrada were ousted in 1986 and 2001, respectively,” Sison said.

The communist leader also hinted that the military and police were crucial forces in the move for Duterte’s ouster.

“The moment of ouster will occur when Duterte’s own military and police forces withdraw support from Duterte upon the sight and inspiration of the rising people in their millions throughput the archipelago. Duterte is now worried to death and so desperate as to imagine that he would be ousted this coming October,” Sison said.

Meanwhile, Sison also answered Duterte’s statement tagging him as a terrorist explaining that he was already cleared by European Court of Justice.

“Regarding Duterte´s slander that I am a terrorist, I must remind him that I have long been cleared of the charges of terrorism by the European Court of Justice since 2009. This is the court that has had jurisdiction over me,” Sison said. /cbb
