Diwali Festival of Lights this weekend

Celebrate Diwali in Brampton at Bramalea City Centre

The free Diwali Festival of Lights returns this weekend to light up the Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, Ontario on October 20 and 21. This is the GTA’s largest free indoor event to celebrate the South Asian autumn holiday that celebrates the triumph of good over evil.

This year’s event is the perfect opportunity to beat the cold and engage in two fun-filled days of musical performances, Bhangra, giddha and dhol, singing, and interactive Bollywood dance workshops.

“Diwali is all about spending time with loved ones. So, we want to create an event where every member of the family, from the youngest to the oldest, comes out to spend the day with their family and friends and watch our variety of stage performances. The festival is for people from all walks of life and cultures to enjoy,” says Sanjay Agnihotri, director, business development, Metroland Specialty Markets, which publishes Suhaag magazine and Canadian Immigrant magazine.

“We are honoured to be a part of the 2018 Diwali Festival of Lights,” says Winnie Mittal, senior marketing manager, Multicultural, Telus. “At Telus, we have embraced the commitment to diversity and togetherness through our support of cultural events like this celebration that reflect the community we live in. We are looking forward to a successful and entertainment filled festival ahead.”

There will also be fun elements for children: from a magic show to face painting, and giveaways for everyone!
