Trillanes to critics: Don’t get tired of me

As he rejoiced the junking of a motion for his arrest on a non-bailable case, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV took a swipe at some people, who are getting tired of him.

“Nothing changes; I’d be the same critic as I was before. I’m just upholding my role in our democracy as a member of the opposition,” Trillanes told reporters on Monday after receiving the decision of Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148.

In a 33-page decision, the court denied the Department of Justice’s request for an arrest order against Trillanes, noting that the non-bailable coup d’état case against him had already been dismissed long ago, and such dismissal was “immutable.”

“So ‘yung mga medyo napapagod sa akin, huwag kayong mapagod kasi ako naman ito eh. Just do your thing,” the senator went on.

“Anyway, kelangan ng demokrasya ‘yung mga kagaya ko na pinupuna ‘yung mga kamalian ng administrasyon at pinipigilan ‘yung mga pang-aabuso nito,” he added.

While he made no reference at anyone, Trillanes’ remark came after actors Aga Muhlach and Bea Alonzo’s controversial comments about him.

In an episode of ABS-CBN’s “Gandang Gabi Vice” aired last October 14, the two were shown a picture of Trillanes and were asked to give a message to the senator.

“Nakakapagod na (It’s exhausting),” Muhlach said of Trillanes.

Alonzo, for her part, asked the senator: “Di pa po ba kayo pagod (Aren’t you tired yet)?”

“Parang nag-e-enjoy ka lang nang nag-e-enjoy. Tumulong ka na lang (It seems you’re just enjoying. Just help out),” Muhlach further said.

“Kahit sinong Presidente umuupo, sinisiraan. ‘Eto, ginagawa naman ng Presidente natin nakaupo ngayon ang ginagawa niya. Maraming hindi masaya sa kanya, pero punto ko ‘yung mga nakapuwesto rin, tumulong na lang kayo sana.”

(You complain about any sitting President. Here, our current President is doing what he has to. Many aren’t happy with him, but my point is those who are also in power just help instead.)     /kga
