Ex-Miss Earth bet replaces Bong Go
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday named Senior Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu as his new presidential aide.
Duterte, in a speech during the 2015 to 2017 Philippine Quality Award and Conferment ceremony, gestured to Deliu and referred to her as “the replacement of Bong,” referring to his former top aide, Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.
Deliu, a Filipina-Romanian, is a member of the Presidential Security Group.
Go, who filed his certificate of candidacy for senator last week, told reporters Deliu will be presidential aide as the Special Assistant to the President title was created exclusively for him.
Duterte stood as godfather at the wedding of Deliu and Police Inspector Abdul-Bassar Abdurajak in March this year.
The policewoman graduated from Saint Louis University in Baguio City with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.
She entered the Philippine National Police Academy in Baguio in 2006, and joined the police force in 2014.
Deliu was a top 15 finalist at the Miss Earth Philippines pageant in 2015.
