MANILA, Philippines — Classes in all levels — both public and private — in Naga City, Bicol were declared suspended from Jan. 3 to 6 due to the damage caused by Tropical Depression “Usman.”

Naga City Mayor John Bongat ordered the suspension of classes as there are still city schools and barangays that need to be “cleaned up.”

Portions of Barangays Mabolo, Sabang, Triangulo and Tabuco are still flooded after the Bicol and Naga rivers overflowed.

Bongat added that his office also received reports of massive flooding and damaged caused by “Usman” in neighboring municipalities “which will make it difficult for students residing in those communities to attend classes” in Naga City schools.

Bongat said classes will resume on Jan. 7.

Naga City was placed under a State of Calamity following “Usman’s” aftermath.  /muf
