Ombudsman to House: ‘Don’t drag office in feud with Budget dept’

OMBUDSMAN Samuel Martires chided the House of Representatives for allegedly “dragging” the office into its ongoing investigation against Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno over the alleged flood control fund scam in Sorsogon.
In a statement on Thursday, Martires said it was “inaccurate” to say that the office has “noticed red flags of corruption on the evidence presented and on the testimonies made during the hearing.”
He was referring to the Committee on Rules’ inquiry headed by House Majority Leader Rolando Andaya Jr. in Naga City.
