Mayor tagged as mastermind in Batocabe slay arrested

A mayor tagged as the alleged mastermind in the murder of Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe was arrested on Tuesday for possession of unlicensed firearms, police said.
Mayor Carlwyn Baldo of Daraga, Albay was arrested at 2:30 p.m. in his home where police, by virtue of a court-issued search warrant, found two caliber .45 pistols and its 15 live ammunition, one empty magazine of Uzi Machine Pistol, ammunition for a grenade launcher, and live ammunition for M16 caliber, said Chief Supt. Arnel Escobal.
Authorities also confiscated a vehicle.
Baldo has been placed under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Bicol for proper disposition.
Batocable and his aide, SPO1 Orlando Diaz, was killed on December 22, 2018 in Daraga as he was distributing gifts to senior citizens.
