Shout out to Tory London mayoral candidate Shaun Bailey’s Twitter account, which promoted the critical look at Sadiq Khan’s housing policy that VICE published last week.

@Bailey2020Press tweeted the article with the quote: “Khan’s (rent control) strategy sounds like an attempt to shift the blame for London’s housing crisis away from his own failed policies.”

We’ll take the promotion – so thanks, Shaun. But it’s important to point out you lopped off the second half of that sentence, which was in fact:

“Khan’s strategy sounds like an attempt to shift the blame for London’s housing crisis away from his own failed policies and onto the equally disastrous and nearly indistinguishable policies of the Conservative government.”

They’re never ones to miss an opportunity for a cut, the Tories.

VICE emailed Bailey’s campaign to ask if they endorsed the view that the government’s housing policy is “disastrous”. They replied: “Nice try.”
