CEZA unveils P1-B ‘Build, Build, Build’ projects in Cagayan

SANTA ANA, Cagayan, Philippines — Officials of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) on Monday unveiled several multi-million projects here as the agency celebrated its 24th anniversary.

Raul Lambino, CEZA administrator, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the projects under the “Build, Build, Build” program of the Duterte administration.

The projects include the P301-million warehouses at Port Irene in Casambalangan village, the P426-million corporate and commercial centers in Rapuli village, and the P100-million Ropali Point Development in Pozo-Robo.

CEZA will also start the construction of the P155-million wharf in San Vicente village and the P17-million sanitary landfill in Diora-Zinungan village.

Lambino said Port Irene is envisioned to become the premier international port of Northern Philippines, capable of accommodating Panamax and cape-sized vessels catering to the Asia-Pacific market.

“It will be developed as a major international seaport that will serve as a gateway for exports and imports from neighboring East Asian countries to the US West Coast, among others,” he said.

The $4.5-billion project called City Polaris in Sitio Mapurao, San Vicente village was also unveiled during Monday’s groundbreaking ceremony.

It would include the CEZA Township Project, a 2,013-hectare property with an ocean-view and open for mixed-use development. It shall have business spaces for IT-BPO companies, commercial and residential areas, health, wellness, leisure, and recreational facilities. /ee
