The fast-tracking of Charly Suarez’s world title shot took another step forward after the 2016 Rio Olympics campaigner racked up his second straight win Tuesday night in Davao del Norte.

Suarez, 30, who fought current toast Vasyl Lomachenko in the amateurs, stopped Justin Cabarles in two rounds of their lightweight clash for the Mindanao regional crown at the Dujali Gym.

Last January, Suarez officially turned professional and beat Ernesto Cagampang also in the second canto.

Before leaving the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines, Suarez brought honors to the country by dominating the Southeast Asian Games.

In the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, Suarez settled for the silver medal, the same color he won when he competed in the Presidents Cup in Indonesia, Tammer Cup in Finland and the Presidents Cup in Kazakhstan.
