SK ‘kagawad’ in Cavite arrested in buy-bust op

A Sangguniang Kabataan “kagawad” (councilman) and two of his cohorts were arrested by the police after they allegedly yielded sachets of dried marijuana leaves in a buy-bust operation in Rosario, Cavite yesterday.
PO1 Ricardo Mendoza, case investigator, identified the suspects as Henry Oyao alias “JR,” 22, SK kagawad; Elmer Obiana, alias “Agler,” 27; and a 16-year-old female student.
Initial investigation disclosed that the Rosario police Station Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended the three suspects in a drug sting in Barangay Muzon 2 around 4:30 a.m.
According to Mendoza, an undercover agent successfully bought P200 worth marijuana from the suspects. When the transaction materialized, the anti-drug operatives revealed themselves and collared the suspects.
Mendoza said the three suspects were all identified drug pushers and included in the barangay watch list.
Police confiscated from the suspects four plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves worth P600, the P200 buy-bust money, and cash worth P90.
The suspects were taken to the Rosario police station custodial facility while the minor student was turned over to the municipal social welfare development officers for custody. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
