He said they didn’t want to pressure themselves to campaign.

In contrast, Evasco’s opponent, outgoing Rep. Arthur Yap of the 3rd district, headed the proclamation rallies in the towns of Duero and Jagna and Tagbilaran City on Friday.

He was expected to hold rallies in different municipalities on Saturday.

Evasco was expected to join the rally organized by the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) for its local candidates at the City Square in Tagbilaran about 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Pernia clarified that Saturday’s rally was not put together by TB but by NPC, which Evasco was a part of.

Among those expected to join the rally was Senate President Vicente Sotto III who belonged to NPC.
