Filipino veterans get free ride at LRT-2 on Philippine Veterans Week

MANILA, Philippines — The management of the Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) will be providing free rides to all Filipino veterans for seven days in observance of Philippine Veterans Week and Day of Valor.

In an advisory on Tuesday, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said that all Filipino veterans may ride the LRT line 2 for free starting Friday, April 5, until next week Thursday, April 11.

“In observance of the Philippine Veterans Week and the Araw ng Kagitingan, veterans may avail of unlimited free LRT-2 rides at any time between 4:30 a.m. until the last commercial train trip on the dates indicated below,” the LRTA said in an advisory.

The management, however, noted that the veteran must be accompanied by one individual in order to avail the free ride.

Each veteran must also present his or her Philippine Veterans Affairs Office identification card at any LRT-2 station, the management added.

The LRT-2 free rides will be available from from 4:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. /jpv
