Minor fire hits Santa Cruz Church in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Fire broke out at the Santa Cruz Church or the Archdiocesan Shrine of The Blessed Sacrament in Manila Friday night, the Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) Arson Investigation Division confirmed.
The Arson Investigation Division told INQUIRER.net that the fire started at around 5:59 p.m. but was immediately extinguished at around 6:03p.m.
No alarm was raised, it added.

Investigators are still at the scene as of posting time to establish the cause of the fire, but is suspected to have been triggered by a lighted candle inside the church. /gsg
