2 drown on Good Friday in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A 20-year old girl and a 62-year old man drowned in separate incidents on Good Friday (April 19), the Pangasinan police said.

At 6:49 p.m., Lota Ebidag drowned in a swimming pool in Barangay Petal at the Pangasinan town of Dasol.

Ebidag and her boyfriend Emerson dela Cruz proceeded to the pool after sharing drinks with friends. She dove in and did not resurface. Dela Cruz leaped into the pool and dragged her up from the pool floor. Doctors were unable to revive her when she was brought to the Dasol Community Hospital.

Earlier in Mangatarem town, a 62-year old resident of Pasay City drowned in the Agno River.
