PNP gave no input to latest Palace matrix — spokesperson

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has no contribution to the intelligence information that made up the ouster plot matrix released recently by Malacañang, an official revealed Thursday.
“Patuloy’ yung ugnayan naman ng Palasyo at ng PNP kaya lang medyo mabagal yung proseso ng validation natin dahil we need to validate and build up a case and gather evidence,” PNP spokesperson Colonel Bernard Banac said in a press conference at Camp Crame.

“Kaya hindi na kami nakasumite ng aming contribution doon sa pinakahuli, sa bago (That’s why we were not able to contribute to the latest version of the matrix),” he added.
Malacañang has tagged the Liberal Party, the Magdalo Group and certain media outfits in the matrix, which outlines the groups and individuals allegedly behind a plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President received the validated intelligence information showing that there is a “deliberate attempt to discredit this administration, as well as to boost the candidacies of the opposition, senatorial candidates.”
He did not disclose the source of information but assured that the President has validated “every information” in the matrices.

Banac said the latest matrix released by the Palace is part of the ongoing validation process that the PNP is undertaking. /ee/ac
