Villar, Poe maintain lead in partial, unofficial tally

MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe maintained their lead in the 2019 senatorial race, while the rest in the “Magic 12” have retained their respective spots, the partial and unofficial tally of votes as of Friday morning has showed.

Based on the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV)-Inquirer transparency server as of 7:32 a.m., Villar garnered a whopping 25,038,176 votes.

This is over a 3 million-vote lead against Poe, who now has 21,862,549 votes.

Placing third was former Presidential aide Christopher “Bong” Go, followed by Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, and former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

Still clinging to the 12th spot is reelectionist Senator Nancy Binay with 14,369,460 votes. This is only a difference of over 200,000-vote over her fellow reelectionist Senator JV Ejercito, who now has 14,182,936 votes.

  9. Francis Tolentino – 15,300,670 votes
  10. Ramon “Bong” Revilla – 14,488,890 votes
  11. Koko Pimentel – 14,485,675 votes
  12. Nancy Binay – 14,409,058 votes
  13. JV Ejercito – 14,182,755 votes
  14. Bam Aquino – 14,054,492 votes
  15. Jinggoy Estrada – 11,267,942 votes

These results were sourced from 85,988 out of 87,851 (97.88 percent)  — of vote counting machine (VCM) transmissions.

Meanwhile, in the latest partial and official count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Aquino made it to the Magic 12 while Revilla landed at 13th place. Villar and Poe also lead the senatorial race.  (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
