BROOKLYN, New York – Keith Thurman said he has nothing but respect for Manny Pacquiao but vowed to put the Filipino boxing icon where he rightfully belongs.

“He’s definitely not done. But I am going to show how it is to be in with a hungry, young lion,” said Thurman.
But Thurman feels that Broner didn’t have what he has: hunger.

“Adrien Broner might have been young but he wasn’t as hungry as I am. The hunger is there. I am still working for greatness,” he said.

Pacquiao beat up Broner last January 19 but Thurman swears the brash Broner lacked that key ingredient needed to repulse somebody like Pacquiao.

Still, Thurman is wary of what an all-time great like Pacquao can bring to the ring.

“Manny is a small guy who has done big things. He has fought welterweights who are a lot bigger than him. He’s used to fighting welterweights I know he’s going to be comfortable even though he’s going to see a bigger man in front of him.”

Thurman (29-0 with 22 KOs) is listed at 5-7 ½, two and a half inches taller than Pacquiao (61-7-2 with 39 KOs) and is the slight favorite in their battle for the World Boxing Association 147-kgs. crown.
