THE Liberal Party (LP) and Sen. Antonio Trillanes 4th on Thursday denied the allegations of Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy that they conspired to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.

Advincula, in a news conference at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters, claimed that Vice President Leni Robredo, LP chairperson, and the senator wanted to remove Duterte so that they can sit as president and vice president, respectively.

“I deny the allegations made by this Bikoy character. This could be another ploy to harass the opposition,” Trillanes said.

“For now, I will be consulting with my lawyers so that we could also file the appropriate charges against him,” Trillanes said in a text message.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, an LP stalwart, said LP had nothing to do with the so-called Bikoy video.

“We deny the accusations. That the Liberal Party connived with an obviously professional con artist to topple the government is most absurd. It is ridiculous on so many levels. It’s excruciating to have listened to all his lies. I urge the Phillippine National Police to get to the bottom of this Bikoy issue and file the appropriate charges,” Drilon said in a statement.

Sen. Francis Pangilinan, LP president denied Advincula’s accusation that the opposition party plotted to oust Duterte.

“Uulitin ko. Walang kinalaman ang LP sa Bikoy video (The LP has nothing to do with the Bikoy video),” Pangilinan said.

Asked whether the chamber needs to probe Advincula’s new revelation, Senate President Vicente Sotto 3rd said, “I’ll leave it to the discretion of the respective chairmen of the appropriate committees.”  BERNADETTE TAMAYO
