Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso launched on Friday an online complaint desk where grievances of Manileños may be filed using a new platform.

The new Manila mayor ordered that the complaint desk will be placed under the local government unit’s new Public Information Office (PIO) which now also serves as the official public relations arm of his new administration.

It is headed by 21-year-old Julius Leonen.

Leonen told the media that Manileños may file their complaints through Google Forms, hence, every complainant is required to make their Google Mail (Gmail) account.

“Importante ang people’s participation sa pagpapatakbo ng local government. Kaakibat ng paglilingkod sa bayan ang pagdinig ng tinig ng mga Manileño,” Domagoso said.

Once collated, the complaints will be submitted directly to the Office of the Mayor in hopes to create an action plan to resolve the issues filed.

Leonen added that the online complaint desk is open to the general public, hence, everyone is welcome to air their issues that concerns the new administration.

“Makakaasa po ang mga Manileño na aaksyunan ni Mayor Isko ang kanilang mga hinaing. Huwag po tayo matakot na lumapit at magsumbong sa kanyang opisina”, Leonen said.

The chief PIO also assured that the identities of the complaints as well as their other personal details will remain confidential.

For pieces of evidence, complainants may also attach photos and videos using Google Drive. But users with existing Gmail accounts may use their existing account.

Leonen said the Office of the Mayor is not limited to taking actions using the new platform.

“Open pa rin po ang Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even Office of the Mayor itself kung gusto nila magreklamo,” he said.

It can be recalled that Domagoso, during his inaugural speech, assured his constituents that he will be soliciting feedback using various online platforms now that he had already adopted an open governance policy. (Hanah Tabios)
