Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio continues to stay busy in the ONE Championship stage as he’s set to be the fifth Team Lakay warrior which will compete when the organization returns to Manila.

Eustaquio will be taking on Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu of Japan in ONE: DAWN OF HEROES, in a ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Alternate Bout at the Mall of Asia Arena on 2 August.

“First of all, I’m very happy and very proud to be part of this card, to perform in front of my kababayans along with my Team Lakay brothers,” Eustaquio said as he joins the likes of Eduard Folayang, Danny Kingad, Honorio Banario and Edward Kelly in the card.

With the match-up less than a month away, Eustaquio is working double-time to get himself physically prepared and mentally ready against the dangerous Japanese foe.

Good thing for him, he always stays in shape.

“Now I am starting to unveil more of his style cause I’m looking at him closely now, unlike before where I settle with what I usually see in the cage,” said Eustaquio.

“He’s a great kid, and considering that the match is 27 days away, I will focus on getting better so I’m in a hundred percent fighting shape on August.”

Not one to take opponents lightly, Eustaquio understands the threat that Wakamatsu brings to the table and he promises not to loook past it.

However, Eustaquio believes that his experience with all the wars that he’s been through will be the difference in his clash against “Little Piranha.”

“I think the best factor that will lead me to victory in Manila is my experience. Just like what I’ve said the last time, I’ve seen them all. I fought the best and learned a lot from them.”

“Experience always plays a big role in competitions. I’ve been to many championship bouts, at the end of the day it’s just a matter of faith.”

Not the type to remain stagnant, Eustaquio shared that he’s actually cooking up something new for Wakamatsu.

What it is, only Eustaquio knows, and fans will have to tune in on 2 August to find out.

“For me, it’s just another day in the office. I will go there and show my new techniques,” Eustaquio revealed.

“I will play it smarter. I hope they will like it.”
