If Romualdez runs for VP in 2022, Duterte will endorse him – Palace

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte will endorse Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez if the lawmaker decides to run for Vice President in the 2022 elections, Malacañang said Friday.
“[I]f Romualdez will run for VP in the next elections, he (Duterte) will endorse him,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.
Duterte has endorsed Romualdez to be the next majority floor leader of the House of Representatives.
Romualdez, president of Lakas-CMD, reclaimed his seat in Congress during the May 13 midterm elections. /kga
