Palace to Pacquiao: ‘Best of luck’ in fight vs Thurman

MALACAÑANG wished Sen. Manny Pacquiao the “best of luck in the world” on Thursday, ahead of his boxing match against unbeaten American Keith Thurman in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
“He’s fighting someone, I’ve seen some of the fights of Thurman, mukhang magaling din eh. Bata pa. Magaling. Pero yung ating boxer magaling din eh ( he looks good, young. He’s good. But our boxer is also good),” Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo said during a press conference.
Pacquiao and Thurman will face one another in the boxing ring at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
They will fight for the WBA (Super) welterweight title, currently held by Thurman.
The Filipino legend has 61 wins, seven defeats and two draws in a 24-year professional career, while Thurman possesses a perfect 29-win record with 22 wins coming via knockout. CATHERINE S. VALENTE
