4 cops dead in NPA ambush in Negros Oriental

CEBU CITY—Four policemen were killed by suspected communist rebels at the village of Manato in Ayungan town, Negros Oriental province on Thursday (July 18).
Police Maj. Leo Logronio said the four policemen were on three motorcycles when ambushed by the gunmen believed to be members of New People’s Army.
Logronio said the policemen were killed instantly after they were repeatedly shot by the rebels.
“Until now, the bodies of the victims are still in the area,” Logronio said.
