Lt. Col. Elmer Cereno, PNP-AKG spokesman, said they discovered that the suspects were offering to lend money to their victims in casinos. Cereno also noted that if the victims failed to pay their debts, the suspects would kidnap them.

“Titingnan sila ng mga probably may kayang players, then aalukin nila ito ng puhunan. May promissory note silang kukunan. Kukuha sila ng percentage ‘pag natalo kaagad pipilitin nila magbayad e wala namang pera; paglabas ng gambling den, doon na nila iaabduct yung tao,” Cereno told reporters in a press conference at PNP-AKG office.

The suspects were detained in PNP-AKG while charges for kidnapping with ransom are being readied against them. /je
