Puerto Princesa, PSC sign MOA

Philippine Sports Commission Officer-in-Charge and Commissioner Celia Kiram and Puerto Princesa, Palawan Mayor Lucio Bayron yesterday signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the hosting of the Batang Pinoy Finals.
“We are grateful to the PSC for choosing us to host this event,” says Bayron after signing the MOA at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
PSC Chairman Butch Ramirez, through BP Project Director and PSC Deputy Director Atty. Guillermo B. Iroy, Jr. also thanked the City for accepting the offer of PSC.

One of the centerpiece grassroots programs of the sports agency for the youth, the Batang Pinoy will have its national finals from Aug. 25 to 31 in the picturesque Puerto Princesa.
The event will also strictly implement a “zero plastic policy” during the games as mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 760 of 2014 and Republic Act 9003 or the Ëcological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.”
Iroy said they are looking into partnering with a private firm to offer buko as a natural hydration alternative.
IP GAMES IN PALAWAN
Meanwhile, the PSC-Indigenous Peoples Games formally opened yesterday with Mindanao State University (MSU)-Marawi City Professor Henry Daut among the resource speakers in the IP Forum.
Daut, also a PSC Consultant, will talk about “Restoring the Heritage, Reliving the Past, and Rekindling the Spirit.”
Also invited is retired Professor Dr. Paul D. Jagmis, Sr. of the Municipality of Aborlan. His subject matter is the Palawan IP Culture.
