North Shore rescuers were called to two mountains to rescue three hikers on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, North Shore Search and Rescue was deployed to Mount Seymour for a hiker who had become lost.

Crews were able to locate the man using GPS coordinates from his cell phone and escorted him out of the field.

Later, around 9:45 p.m., crews were again called, this time to Cypress Mountain and the Howe Sound Crest Trail to assist two hikers, one of which was in medical distress and unable to walk.

NSR deployed a five-person team, including a doctor, ATVs and a stretcher to locate the two hikers on the trail, on the south side of St. Mark’s Summit.

Once searchers found the pair, the team spent an hour and a half giving the individual warm fluids and electrolytes before he was able to continue moving.

The team was able to get the two hikers back to ground around 2:30 a.m. The subject did not require further treatment and was released.
