Dozens of lucky UBC students will spend the year studying, socializing and living in 140-square-feet nano suites.
The suites, which are located in the university’s newly opened Exchange Residence, feature a kitchenette, a bathroom with a stand-up shower and a convertible bed that swings up to allow space for a desk.
The monthly cost of the nano suites is $700, a far cry from what’s typically available around Vancouver.

VANCOUVER, B.C.: SEPT. 2, 2019 – The newly opened Exchange Residence at UBC offers up 71 nano suites, 140-square-foot individual lodgings that fit a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a convertible double bed and desk.
