“A to Z reasons to support Tesla” is a list that was created by a Model 3 owner, Ade Olabisi, who graduated from Cornell University. Ade loves his Tesla and is a huge supporter of Elon Musk. He wrote to me on Twitter a few days ago with this list that he created in June of 2018. The list reflects on Tesla from the viewpoint of 2018, with some updates since then and other fresh data lacking.

Ade has shared this list with his colleagues often, and now he’s sharing it with the world. The list has just been modified a bit by our editing team to make sure it’s up to date and fit into our style guide. We hope you enjoy it.

A) Model 3 is now the best-selling premium sedan in the USA. Tesla had more than 400,000 reservations.

B) Tesla cars have the highest customer satisfaction rating. Model 3 currently exceed 93%.

C) You’ll be surprised to learn that electric vehicles share less than 30% of their components in common with internal combustion engines. Trust me, those big auto companies would have to go through Tesla’s pain down the road, but it might be too late. Ford used to be among the top three auto companies in 1950, until GM came from behind.

D) Tesla is the only auto company with over-the-air software updates. This makes the car somewhat of an investment rather than a depreciating asset. At the least, the cars maintain their value better than most vehicles in the market today.

E) If you rent this car on Turo, you’re likely to command a greater than 30% premium compared to other cars in its class. Daily rental is currently over $160 per day.

F) Tesla has a sufficient number of superchargers/destination chargers around the country. There are more than 14,000 superchargers around the world, and even more destination chargers.

G) Tesla vehicles come with in-car LTE/Wi-Fi to enjoy free streaming apps — Slacker, Tune-in, and soon Spotify in the USA.

H) Probably the best audio system, since there are no exhaust noises.

I) Fewer moving components — therefore, higher reliability in the long term. Tesla cars have fewer than 20 moving components compared to combustible engine vehicles, which have over 2,000 moving components.

J) Ease of customization: You can control several aspects of the vehicle on your phone. Autopilot will be beneficial in the long run. If you’re NOT readily distracted while using Autopilot, you’ll have a great experience. The cameras can be used as dashcams.

K) Safest cars in their classes. If you don’t believe me, this article might give you more insight.

L) Best car-buying experience by a MILE. No haggling with a car salesman and Tesla offers mobile service to repair your car.

M) Tesla service centers are net profit neutral and fully controlled by the company, unlike other auto companies that rely on dealers for profits.

N) Tesla stores are expected to the highest sales per square meter in the malls. Apple is #2 on this scale.

O) Tesla still has the best and probably the cheapest batteries, which gives the company a competitive edge. Tesla commands the attention of most battery research facilities around the globe.

P) The motors are designed to last 1 million miles. You’ll be lucky if your Ford vehicle lasts more than 250,000 miles without you losing your shirt.

Q) The company has maintained more than 30% annual growth in the last few years. The competition cannot make this claim, but some automakers do have a much higher volume.

R) Tesla Model 3 is expected to become the most American-made car, with approximately 95% of its components sourced in North America. There are only 3 other cars that are close to 90%.

S) Tesla focuses on a complete renewable solution (solar, storage, cars). The current approach to vertical integration is much better than Apple’s and this might pay dividends in the future.

T) You can actually sleep in a Tesla car overnight while the car is running (in camper mode) since you’re not burning oil. No risk of carbon monoxide, unlike internal combustion engines.

U) If you live in NJ, there is no sales tax (at the moment of this list). A few states offer other benefits.

V) Some people complain about the toxic risks of the batteries, but they don’t realize that Tesla actually recycles its own batteries, unlike the dangerous lead-acid batteries in your internal combustion cars.

W) Tesla made its technology patents open source in order to encourage other companies to transition to green energy. If the company didn’t have confidence in its abilities, it would not share the patents.

X) Folks might not be aware that Tesla cars offer the best HEPA air filters in vehicles. The bio-defense mode in Model S & X can withstand a bio-hazard (in a warzone). Air quality as good as hospitals.

Y) There are opportunities to win valuable prizes. Tesla doesn’t advertise. If you share your referral code with people, you might receive a special prize, including a full Tesla.

Z) The cars are truly made with LOVE (great Leadership, you’re helping to wean us from Oil consumption, people working there demonstrate true Valor as renewable vanguards, owners become Evangelists). Their mission and vision is the clearest of any automotive or technology company today. From the top to the bottom, people working there truly care.

I didn’t edit the list or add to it in any way because I wanted to take you back to 2018 just for comparison. Adi used this list to help promote Tesla to his colleagues. Since the creation of this list, Tesla has included a home theater, Caraoke, the latest Autopilot updates, has broken records when it comes to safety and has even been snubbed by Folksam’s list of safest vehicles for being so safe that there was not enough data from accidents to determine how safe Teslas are. Tesla has come a long way since it’s beginnings, but every year it seems to advance quicker and quicker–much like human evolution from the Renaissance into the 20th century.

Lists like these — posting the current benefits of that time, shows how fast Tesla is evolving. This is a good thing.
