Surrey RCMP have released a photo of a man wanted in connection with an arson fire that occurred May 19 in the Guildford Area.

A building that housed both Fountain Tire and Speedy Glass, located at 5392 Fraser Hwy., was destroyed in an early morning blaze that police say was deliberately set.

The two businesses have remained closed ever since.

Investigators, seeking to identify a suspect, have released photos of a man who was seen in the area at the time of the fire.

The man is described as between 45 and 55 years old, with a medium build and a bald head. He was wearing a black T-shirt with the image of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara on it.

“Given how clear these images are, our investigators believe that someone in the public will be able to help us advance this investigation,” said Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Kirk Duncan.

Anyone with information can contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
