Missing mushroom picker found dead on Vancouver Island

CAMPBELL RIVER — A mushroom picker who disappeared on Tuesday near Campbell River ohas been found dead.
RCMP say officers found the man soon after a report came in that he was missing.
Police say the man, who was in his 60s, died before he was found.
The death is not considered suspicious and the case has been turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
Police are reminding people to develop a safety plan before going into the backcountry.
They say people should let someone know where they’re going and when they’ll be back, and be prepared to spend a night in the woods if something goes wrong.
