B.C. Ferries bans 3 unruly passengers for one year

In the last two weeks, B.C. Ferries has banned three separate passengers from travelling on its ferries for being abusive to staff.
In a news release Thursday, B.C. Ferries said it has a zero tolerance policy for abuse of its employees.
In the latest incident, B.C. Ferries has issued a one-year travel ban to a passenger who “aggressively drove his motor vehicle towards an employee” at the Langdale terminal two weeks ago.
On Oct. 15, the company says the passenger left his assigned lane and “aggressively” drove towards a staff member at the terminal, forcing the employee to jump out of the way.
In separate incidents, B.C. Ferries says a passenger threatened to use a firearm on an employee at the Horseshoe Bay terminal on Oct. 17, while on Oct. 22, a passenger assaulted an employee on the Coastal Celebration.
Both passengers also received one-year travel bans.
B.C. Ferries says abusive conduct or comments, or behaviours that put employees or the public at risk will not be tolerated.
B.C. Ferries, which by law can refuse passage to someone, says it has security on board its vessels and at terminals when needed, and will contact the police if needed.
