MAHARLIKA Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) founder Senator Manny Pacquiao said on Tuesday they have filed charges against 21 individuals for game fixing, betting and point shaving.

This is my passion (I just want everyone to know that the MPBL and I are serious against our campaign against any form of game fixing. I will not allow this. I love the sport of basketball. This is my passion),” Pacquiao told the media in a news conference at the Sofitel Hotel on Tuesday.

Among those charged were players Kevin Espinosa, Serafin Matias, EJ Avila, Niño Dionisio, Jake Diwa, Ezequiel Biteng, Ricky Morillo, Jerome Juanico, Matthew Bernabe, Julio Magbanua, Abby Santos, John Patrick Rabe, Ryan Regalado, Janus Lozada, Joshua Alcober, a certain Mr. Sung,  two other Chinese nationals identified only as @Emma and @Kein, coach Ferdinand Melicoton, Nice Ilagan and Sonny Uy.

Pacquiao said the Chinese nationals allegedly paid P20,000 to some players per game to participate in the scheme.
