THE Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) on Thursday launched an extension of its office at the Manila City Hall.

The “Katarungan Desk” — a first for a local government unit (LGU) — hopes to avoid having the “entire Philippines coming to the PACC.”

Samutsaring complaints ang narereceive namin, karamihan ay local government issue (our office is receiving various complaints, majority of which are local government issues),” PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica said.

Belgica said the PACC planned to launch Katarungan Desks in all LGUs and stations at the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2, and the Philippine National Railways (PNR).

Belgica assured that all information regarding the complainants and their concerns would remain “confidential” and would undergo verification and investigation before being submitted to the Office of the President for appropriate action. JOSHUA VERA CRUZ
