P455-M ‘shabu’ seized in Las Piñas drug raid

OVER P400 million worth of crystal meth or shabu was seized in an apartment in Las Piñas City on Saturday morning.
Operatives acted on a tip by Maria Clavo, owner of the apartment, that her tenant allegedly brought drugs into the apartment.
Police raided the apartment at 5:15 a.m. and found some 67 kilograms of alleged shabu placed in tea bags with a street value of P455 million.
Police said Clavo’s tenant was identified as Melanie Salem, alleged live-in partner of Joel Bustamante who was arrested on Wednesday also in Las Piñas.
Bustamante and his brother Merwin were alleged couriers of Liu Chao who was apprehended by Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in Makati City Tuesday night.

Operatives seized some 371 kilograms of shabu from Chao with an estimated street value of P2.5 billion.
