Earlier this week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was caught on camera with several other prominent world leaders speaking candidly about U.S. President Donald Trump’s unplanned media availability before his meeting with Trudeau.

The video, taken at an event at Buckingham Palace, shows Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson asking France’s President Emmanuel Macron why he was late, to which Trudeau can be heard saying: “He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top.” The leaders appear to be chuckling.

Trump’s response to the video was to call Trudeau “two-faced.” Trudeau has not apologized for any comments made with the other world leaders. On Wednesday, Trudeau said: “Last night, I made a reference to the fact that there was an unscheduled press conference before my meeting with President Trump and I was happy to take part of it, but it was certainly notable.”

What do you think? Do you think Trudeau did the right thing playing down his response to the video? Do you agree with some who argue that Trump’s “two-faced” comments were those of a bully or are you more concerned that Trudeau’s actions and this spat with Trump will hurt Canada because it needs U.S. support? Take our poll and leave your comments below.
