While nude lipstick may feel like the safe bet, it’s time to delve into the deep with a bold hue of burgundy.

We saw many of our favourite celebrities rocking this trend on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and the key to pulling off this gorgeous look is to create an even and glowing complexion.

Step 1:

I started by priming my skin with a few drops of Smashbox Primer Oil to create a glowing and radiant dewy finish. I then added a light application of Make Up For Ever Step 1 Corrective Primer (green) in targeted areas, to eliminate any traces of redness in the skin.

Step 2:

Using a beauty blender, I evened out my complexion with a medium coverage foundation, such as Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Invisible Foundation. I then contoured the face with Bourjois Bronzing Powder.

Step 3:

I kept the eyeshadow soft and neutral by contouring them with the Huda Beauty Nude Eye Shadow Palette. I started by contouring the crease with Play and then added Teddy to deepen the crease and smoke out the lower lash line. I finished by dabbing Charmed (a metallic-bronze foil shadow) to the middle of the eye for texture and dimension. I curled my lashes and added black mascara.

Step 4:

To brighten under the eyes I used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer and added light dusting of blush to play up the apples of my cheeks. To create a pretty strobe-like effect, I highlighted the high peaks of my face (cheek bones, bridge of nose and brow bones) to create a healthy and glowing finish. I love using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Soft and Gentle

Step 5:

On my lips, I’m wearing Stila Liquid Lipstick in Rubino with MAC Vino Lip Pencil. When wearing a deep lip, I often wait until I see the colour on before deciding on how much I need to fill in my eyebrows. On my brows, I used Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in 5
