REAL SCOOP: Surrey RCMP hunt for third suspect in shooting

Three Surrey men are facing more than a dozen charges in connection with a 2017 shooting that left a bystander visiting from Ontario wounded.
In a news release Monday, Cpl. Elenore Sturko said Abd’l Malik Loubissi-Morris, Tien Roy Mai Dang, and Noah Didhra are each facing 15 separate charges including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of the proceeds of crime; and possession of a firearm.
Loubissi-Morris was arrested in December and remains in custody. Dang was picked up on Jan. 30 – the day the charges were laid. Mounties continue to hunt for Didhra, who is described as 5’10” tall, 230 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
Sturko said in a news release that the investigation began on July 9, 2017, following the shooting in the 7600-block of 147A Street in Newton. A 62-year-old woman was struck.
Sturko said Surrey RCMP worked closely with Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit and the Kelowna and Vernon RCMP detachments. A warrant was executed at a Kelowna home.
“As a result of the combined investigations, police located and seized: cells phones, approximately $177,000, significant quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines, and ketamine, as well as six firearms,” Sturko said.
Surrey Supt. Elija Rain said “projects of this size and complexity take a significant amount of time, resources and specialized skills.”
“A major contributor to the advancement of this investigation was the partnerships we have with CFSEU and the RCMP in Kelowna and Vernon. We extend our gratitude to every police officer and employee whose hard work helped to bring this file to a successful conclusion,” he said.
