After three days of screening at the Vancouver Law Courts, a jury has been selected for the upcoming Jamie Bacon trial.

The process was completed about 1 p.m. Wednesday in courtroom 20 of B.C. Supreme Court.

The 12 jurors and two alternates will be back for the start of the trial on March 3.

Bacon is charged with one count of counselling someone to commit murder in connection with a 2008 shooting in Mission. His trial is scheduled to last three months.

More than 500 people were called for jury duty, showing up on a Saturday when they were broken into smaller groups or “pods.”

Then starting Monday, they were called into Courtroom 20 one-by-one to be asked several questions by B.C. Supreme Court Justice Catherine Wedge.

Some were excused after explaining why their participation on a jury would be challenging because of other commitments in their lives.
