Maureen McCall, 65, was feeling tired of her usual hair and makeup routine and decided to book herself in for a hair refresh and makeup lesson.

Maureen has medium density, naturally wavy silver hair.  She was frustrated with the length and how the hair fell flat at the crown. She wanted a cut that is easy to manage and made her hair look thicker and fuller.

I shampooed her hair using Oribe Silverati Shampoo and Conditioner to help brighten silver and grey hair and eliminate yellow tones.

I eliminated several inches from the back of her hair to create a graduated shape and to add lift and fullness, and maintained a jaw-length shape through the front then incorporated soft layers for added texture.  I thickened her fringe and cut it just below the eyebrows to frame her eyes.

Before styling, I applied KMS Add Volume Styling Foam and Add Volume Liquid Dust, for massive volume and fullness.  I blow dried her hair using a paddle brush and switched to a round brush at the crown.  To finish I sprayed the hair with Oribe Superfine Hairspray.

Maureen wanted a makeup lesson to help her better select products for her everyday beauty routine, and to learn how to wear them properly.

As a minimal makeup wearer we showed her how to even out her complexion with tinted moisturizer and how to contour her face to enhance her features.  We softly contoured the eye with neutral shades of taupe and brown eye shadow, and showed her how to use a shadow liner to define her lash line. We dusted her cheeks with a peachy-pink blush, and applied a plum lip tint.
